BSNL Shows Strong Performance, Register Net Profit after Many Years, Reliance Jio

Government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has recorded a net profit of about Rs 262 crore in the third quarter of the current financial year. This is a quarterly profit of BSNL after about 17 years. In the last few months, the company has launched new services and has also improved its functioning.

BSNL’s revenue from mobile services increased by about 15 percent in the December quarter. In addition, the fiber-to-the-hom (FTTH) service has increased by about 18 percent in the revenue and the revenue from the leased line service has increased by about 14 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that in December, the number of subscribers of the company increased to about nine crores.

BSNL has been approved by the central government for a funding of Rs 6,000 crore for expansion of 4G network. By the middle of this year, the company’s 5G network is also targeted to launch. This fund will also be used for the company’s 4G network of subsidiary metropolitan telephone corporations (MTNL). The control of MTNL, which provides telecom services in Delhi and Mumbai, is with BSNL. BSNL has increased the launch of its 4G network launch. About 65,000 4G sites of the company have been activated. The company has used technology made in the country for this network. The company aims to reach one lakh 4G sites by the middle of this year.

Recently, BSNL Chairman, Robert J Ravi said that it is also important to ensure the completion of minimum quality of services (QOS) parameters after installing 4G sites. For this, the company has deployed a team in each circle. The company has used 700 MHz spectrum for 4G network. This will provide better experience to customers. The company plans to launch 5G networks soon. Testing is being done for this. After installing one lakh 4G sites of BSNL, there is a preparation to launch 5G service. BSNL has launched internet TV service for its mobile subscribers. It will get free access to more than 450 live television channels.
