Car Thefts in India: Delhi has once again come at number one in the case of car theft. This is the city in India in which the maximum number of car thefts occurs. Insurance company Acko has recently released its report in which it has been told how the cases of car theft are continuously increasing in India. Most cases of car theft are reported in Delhi. Insurance Service Provider Acko has released its latest Report Statistics have been presented which show that Delhi is the top city in India in which the maximum number of cars are stolen. Bhajanpura, Uttam Nagar of Delhi are the areas where cars are stolen the most. These areas have been found on top for the second consecutive time in 2023. Acko’s report Theft and The City states that Shahdara, Patparganj, and Badarpur are the three new locations that have seen a rapid increase in car theft cases.

The report mentions 6 cities in which the maximum number of cars are stolen. After Delhi, Chennai is at second place, and Bengaluru is at third place. Whereas, the least cases of car theft have been reported in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata. The report says that car theft cases will almost double between 2022 and 2023. However, the cases of car theft in Delhi have come down to only 37% in 2023, from 56% in 2022.

A car is stolen every 14 minutes in Delhi NCR. On an average, 105 cases of car theft are reported every day. The report even shows which days the most cars are stolen. Among these, maximum number of cars are stolen on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Several reasons have been cited for car theft in Delhi, including lack of well-planned car parking. There is no proper space to park cars in buildings and colonies. The markets for spare parts and second hand vehicles are very close. The borders are open. Due to all these reasons, stealing a car is considered easy here.

Now also know which companies’ cars are stolen the most. Maruti Suzuki alone accounts for 47% of the total cars stolen in Delhi-NCR. In this, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Swift, Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Grand i10, and Maruti Swift Dzire have been said to be the most stolen cars.
