Chinese man bought 4600 phones for fake views earned Rs 3.4 crore in 4 months went to jail

Every content creator and social media influencer wants his videos to reach as many people as possible. But in China a person committed a crime in the name of views. It is alleged that he used thousands of phones to drive traffic to the live stream so that fake viewers could be generated. By doing this he earned $4.15 lakh (about Rs 3.4 crore) in just four months. That person is now behind bars. of South China Morning Post (SCMP) Report According to , a person named Wang has been sentenced to 13 months in jail for running a business operation illegally. He has been fined $7,000.

It is alleged that to increase the number of live-stream viewers, Wang himself operated 4,600 phones and earned more than $4 lakh in less than 4 months.

According to the report, Wang started his business in late 2022. One of his friends told Wang about a practice called ‘brushing’. This term is used for fake real-time activities, under which mislead is done through viewer count, likes, comments etc.

To carry out the scam, Wang purchased 4,600 mobile phones controlled with cloud software. Wang also purchased VPN services and network equipment such as routers and switches from a tech company. Through this, he was able to access all 4600 mobile phones with just a few clicks and generally used mobile phones to increase viewer count and interactions during live-streaming.

It is not yet known from where Wang bought those phones. However, people associated with the case say that this purchase may have been made from the mobile phone recycling market. Apart from Wang, 17 other people are also being investigated. Everyone is accused of breaking rules and using unfair means to gain profit.
