However, now there is a government online website for passport. But today we will tell you how you can find out the passport service center, district passport cell, fee calculator and the status of your passport from your smartphone itself.

Today we will talk about MPassport service. A mobile app through which you can know all the information related to passport in just a few clicks. This app of the Ministry of External Affairs AndroidiOS and Windows Phone. The mPassport Seva mobile app is an extension of the Passport Seva Project initiated as a public-private-partnership between the Ministry of External Affairs and Tata Consultancy Services. Both domestic and foreign citizens can avail this facility.

Locate Center
The first option in the app is Locate Center. You can go to this section and find out where the passport service center is in your area. You can know the address of the passport center by entering the name of your city or PIN code. Apart from this, options like District Passport Cell, Police Station, Mission/Post Abroad and Passport Office are also available in this tab. Click on any of these things about which you want to get information and enter the PIN code.

Fee Calculator
How much fee will be charged for a normal passport? If it is to be made for a period of five years or more than five years, then how much fee? The answer to these questions is the fee calculator tab of the mPassport app. You will get all the information about the fee for new passport, re-issue, age of the applicant or tatkal and ordinary passport in this section. All you need is to enter the basic information.

Status Tracker
By going to this section, you can know the status of your passport application. Click on application status and enter your file number and date of birth information and your status will be known. Apart from this, if you have sought any information through RTI, then the status tracker will tell its status as well.

Document Advisor
What documents will be required to be submitted for ordinary passport and instant passport. What documents are to be submitted for adult and minor citizens. After being redirected to the web browser by clicking on the document advisor, you can get information about all these as per your need.

Appointment Availability
This appointment availability feature of the mPassport app will save you from the hassle of visiting the passport service centre again and again to get your passport made. You can check the availability by entering the name of the passport office and the secure code.
