Elon Musk said, Instagram causes depression to users

Elon Musk, chief executive of microblogging site Twitter, says that social media site Instagram causes depression to its users. He also expressed his opinion that people get angry on Twitter. Along with this, he asked the users on Twitter, “Instagram makes people depressed and Twitter makes people angry. Which one is better?”

After this, there was a flood of comments regarding this on Twitter. One of Musk’s followers said that Twitter doesn’t make him angry, rather it makes him laugh all day. Another follower said that Microsoft-owned professional linking site LinkedIn actually causes people to become depressed. Another user said that Twitter makes people less angry but they are definitely surprised by the absurd statements and tantrums of politicians. Musk replied that he laughs a lot on Twitter. He told that he is a supporter of the vaccine but if the entire population is vaccinated then it can be bad.

Twitter has been facing difficulties since Musk’s takeover late last year. Twitter’s revenue has declined and Musk is taking measures to reduce the company’s expenses. After gaining control of Twitter, he laid off almost half of the company’s staff. Last week, Twitter had asked the staff of its headquarters in Singapore in Asia Pacific to vacate the building. Earlier, a large number of workers were laid off in Twitter’s Asia Pacific unit. The company had also recently removed the region’s integrity head, Nur Azhar Bin Ayob.

Last month, Twitter was taken to court for not paying rent for its headquarters building in San Francisco, USA. Twitter owes $1,36,250 in rent. Columbia Reit, the owner of this office, had said that it had given notice to Twitter on December 16 that if the rent was not paid, it would default on its lease.
