Explore Inclove, a dating and matchmaking app for people with disabilities

It is said that love knows no bounds, but this seems impossible for the differently abled. On one hand, these people constantly fight to make their lives meaningful, while on the other hand, they also try to maintain their existence in the society.

With a new dating and matchmaking app, now even differently abled people can know and understand the feelings of ‘love’. This app has become a medium for these people to express their feelings like normal people. Encloveis an app that helps differently abled people find life partners. Kalyani Khona, a commerce graduate, started this app. When it came to finding love for differently abled people, Kalyani took the initiative with this app.

Speaking to Gadgets 360, Kalyani said, “She was saddened by the lack of a matchmaking agency or any other platform for differently abled people. The foundation for this was laid in 2014 when Wanted Umbrella, an offline matchmaking agency, was launched to match differently abled people. But after the lack of apps and portals for people with low vision, the agency transformed into Inclove, an online matchmaking platform to match differently abled people.”

On the question of how many people have got married through the app so far, Kalyani says that we do not track marriages. We can only track matchmaking on our app and so far 2000 people have met each other through the app. It is very difficult to call 2000 people separately and ask what happened later. We are a matchmaking app and our job is to create a platform where people can meet and connect with each other.

Kalyani told Gadgets 360 that like any other app, the number of people downloading Inclove is more in men. But if we talk about offline meet-ups (social spaces), then the participation of men and women is 50-50 percent. 5000 people are using the Inclove app and 2000 people have met each other through this app.

There are plans to launch Inclove in regional languages ​​like (Hindi, Tamil, Bengali) as well. Through this, people can find a life partner by downloading this mobile app from Google Playstore.

Talking about the safety and security of the app, no one can take screenshots in this app to prevent crimes against women. Apart from this, the app also has the facility of mobile number verification to prevent spam profiles.

Accessibility: People with retina disorders or color blindness can choose different font sizes and colors. Also, people with low vision can access the app via screen readers and talk back.

Safety: Personal information remains secure and spammers and fake profiles are not found on the app.

Inclusivity: This feature includes profiles of people with disabilities (mentally, physically).

Matchability: Through this feature you can search for a partner based on age, location, disability, medication and cure availability.

In addition, the app also organises monthly offline meetups called ‘Social Spaces’. Social Spaces are open to all registered users. On 28 August 2016, one such meetup was organised with the British Council called ‘Social Spaces for People with Disabilities’.

‘Social Space’ is an innovative platform that is open to all users. These meet-ups provide an environment for differently-abled people to spend time together that they would not otherwise get outside as not all locations are handicapped-friendly.

How Inclove works:
Once a user downloads the app, they are asked to verify their identity. After registration, Inclove users can search for other people using various filters. All users are required to share information about their disabilities. This includes health disorders, medical assistance and their free thinking. Apart from this, users are also required to provide information about their age, hobbies and profession. Keeping security in mind, the app does not reveal phone numbers or email IDs once a user accepts a friend request. Users can communicate through the in-app chat feature.

The Inclove app is available only in India and is currently available only on Android Available to download. But soon it is expected to be available on iOS platform too.
