Facebook, Instagram’s parent company Meta declared ‘terrorist’ organization! Know the reason

NDTV’s AccordingRussia on Tuesday listed US tech giant Meta as a “terrorist and extremist” in the database of its Federal Service for Financial Monitoring (Rosfinmonitoring). Earlier, Meta operated under the name of Facebook. As we mentioned, it is the parent company of social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
Russia had banned Facebook and Instagram at the end of March this year. The country also cited “extremist activities” by the platform as the reason behind this ban. Russia alleged that Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Platforms, Inc. spread “Russophobia” during its alleged military campaign in Ukraine. However, Meta’s lawyer at the time rejected the allegations and told the court that his organization was never involved in extremist activities.
Let us also tell you that after the attack on Ukraine on February 24, Russia started monitoring social media, after which many big tech companies banned Russian media. Recently, the European Union (EU) had also completely banned all cryptocurrency transactions related to Russia in this regard. Since then, Russia has also been targeting tech giants for one reason or the other.
After a few days of calm, on Monday, Russia fired a volley of missiles at the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Russia has also carried out massive nationwide bombings of Ukraine after the Crimean bridge was blown up.
