First glimpse of Xiaomi Redmi 3S
Like Redmi 3, it has a 5-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. It will run on the company’s MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. This is a dual SIM smartphone which has a hybrid SIM slot. This means that users will be able to use only two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card at a time.
Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor has been used in the handset. Its four cores will give a clock speed of 1.4 GHz and the remaining four cores will give a clock speed of 1.1 GHz. Two variants of this smartphone have been launched. It is equipped with a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB inbuilt storage. The Prime variant has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S smartphone will be available for Rs 6,999 and the price of Redmi 3S Prime has been kept at Rs 8,999. Both models will first be available exclusively on e-commerce sites Mi.com and Flipkart. The sale of Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime will start from August 9. Xiaomi has said that it will take some time for the sale of Redmi 3S model.
In terms of price, Xiaomi Redmi 3S gives a premium look. However, it is a bit heavy. The software is easy to work with. Xiaomi Redmi 3S has a 13-megapixel rear camera which is equipped with F/2.0 aperture, PDAF, LED flash. The handset has a front camera with F/2.2 aperture. The camera seems quite capable and it focuses quickly. It is possible to record videos in 1080 pixel resolution with both the cameras. You will find unique features that reveal age and gender.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM, 3G and 4G. Xiaomi has said that in case of using two SIM cards, users will be able to avail 4G calls and data from only one SIM card slot.
