Flipkart UPI Service Launched in Partnership With Axis Bank Amid Paytm Payments Bank Ban All Details

Flipkart has launched Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service in collaboration with Axis Bank. Flipkart UPI service will be initially available for Android users and can be used for online and offline payments. Customers can now pay bills and transfer funds directly from the Flipkart app. Flipkart UPI will compete with other popular third-party UPI apps like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay and Amazon Pay.

Flipkart India’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Rajnish Kumar on Sunday, March 3 announced the launch of Flipkart’s own UPI handle on X. Announcement As mentioned, Flipkart has partnered with Axis Bank for this service and it is currently limited to Android users. Customers can register for Flipkart UPI service from @fkaxis handle for their digital transactions using the Flipkart app.

Flipkart UPI service can be used for payment of any product or service, recharge and bill payments. It can also be used to make payments outside the Flipkart marketplace by scanning the QR code. Flipkart is offering several benefits including SuperCoins, cashback and vouchers for Flipkart UPI transactions. Users can earn 10 SuperCoins on their first five scan and payment transactions for a minimum payment of Rs 100. Similarly, the Walmart-backed e-commerce company is offering a flat Rs 25 discount on the first order of Flipkart.

Interested users can activate Flipkart UPI by going to Scan and Pay option under My UPI in the Flipkart Android app. After selecting the bank, Flipkart will verify the details with an SMS and activate the Flipkart UPI service.

The launch of its own UPI handle will allow Flipkart to reduce its dependence on third-party UPI services including Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay and Amazon Pay. Flipkart UPI’s entry comes at a time when India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has imposed a fine of Rs 5.49 crore on Paytm’s banking arm Paytm Payments Bank for alleged money laundering.
