Gionee’s new smartphone Gionee S8 has 3D touch, see first glimpse
The biggest feature of the phone is its 3D Touch pressure sensitive display feature (this feature is also available in Apple’s iPhone), it is expected that it will work like the Apple iPhone. The company says that in this smartphone, you will get a great experience of 3D touch to touch an application, preview it and run the application.

The smartphone has a 5.5 inch Full HD AMOLED display. The width of the phone is 74.9 mm. According to Chinese company Gionee, this is the phone with the smallest width among phones with 5.5 inch screen. Gionee further said that the thickness of the display in the S8 smartphone is only 0.693 mm.
The smartphone S8 is equipped with 4G+ connectivity and supports dual SIM (Micro SIM). Gionee told in the launch that this smart phone has special features like ‘Dual WhatsApp’ and ‘Dual WeChat’. S8 runs on Amigo 3.2 operating system based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Inbuilt storage is 64 GB.
The phone has a 5.5 inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) AMOLED display. The phone has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor. It has a powerful RAM of 4 GB.
Talking about the camera, this flagship of Gionee has a 16-megapixel rear camera with F/1.8 aperture, PDAF, laser autofocus and LED flash. The company claims that the camera of S8 has been designed in such a way that it will support text recognition (OCR) like English and Chinese. Beauty features like time lapse and slow motion have been provided even during video recording. The phone has an 8 megapixel front camera.
Gionee S8 has a 3000 mAh battery. It supports dual 4G, FDD and TDD, 7mode and 14 bands. The phone will currently be available in three colors and its sale will start in March. The price is around Rs 34,000.
