Google maps flyover alert callout feature launched You will not miss while driving

Google Maps New Feature: People who use Google Maps while driving often get confused on flyovers. They clearly do not know which flyover should be taken and which should not. Many times, due to this misunderstanding, people deviate from the route and get stuck in traffic for hours. On Thursday, Google made this problem easier to a great extent. According to PTI report, Google has introduced many new features on its Google Maps. These include electric vehicle (EV) charging station information, flyover callouts and AI-powered routing capabilities to reduce narrow road use for four-wheelers. Google Maps has taken this step at a time when it is facing tough competition from domestic company Ola Maps.

According to the report, Google Maps announced new features and said that this is an exciting time for ‘mapping’. The company has also decided to reduce the price of Google Map platform for developers by up to 70 percent from August 1.

Just a few weeks ago, Ola’s founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal had openly said that Indian developers should stay away from Google Maps. They also offered developers one year of free access to Ola Maps.

In response to a question on competition from Ola and the decision to reduce the price of Google Maps platform, Google Maps officials said that we do not focus on our competitors. However, the most special among the announcements made by Google on Thursday is the flyover callout.

You will get flyover alert while driving

If this feature of Google Maps works properly then you will not miss the wrong flyover. As you approach the flyover, you will get an alert whether to take the flyover or not or which flyover should be taken. The new features of Google Maps have just been rolled out for 8 cities. These include Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Indore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar etc.
