Google Play Store to allow Users will simultaneously Download Multiple Apps
Google Play Store is offering the facility to download two new apps at the same time. This means that if you are installing two apps, they will be downloaded together, not one after the other. However, upon downloading a third app, it goes into the pending list and starts downloading once either of the two apps is installed. The special thing is that this feature is available only for new downloads. While updating an existing app it still follows the queue system and downloads one by one.
However, there can be three simultaneous downloads from the Apple App Store at the same time. This comes as Google has improved the way it manages app downloads since the inception of the Play Store. The new feature now adds downloads in batches of two. When users switch to a new phone and download a large amount of apps at once, this can save a lot of time.
However, it is not clear why Google has set a limit on two apps. One reason could be to keep data throttling low as multiple downloads at once can slow down network speeds, which will take longer than downloading all the apps one by one. 9to5Google reports that it could be that the Android maker is testing the feature and plans to increase the number of apps that can be downloaded simultaneously later on.
Google is currently scheduled to hold its annual developer conference Google I/O on May 14 and the company may introduce Android 15 during the keynote session. According to a report, one of the new features that the tech giant may add is NFC wireless charging that will allow users to charge devices that do not have an in-built wireless charging solution but come with NFC support.
