How to import Gmail contacts into Jio phone
The first thing you’ll want to do when setting up your new Jio phone is to import your contacts. If you already have contacts in your Jio SIM, you can copy them to the phone. If your contacts are available on Google or Microsoft account then it will not be easy to copy them to Jio phone.
To import contacts from Google account to Jio phone, first open the Contacts app. After this, select the Settings option visible on the right side. After this scroll down and reach Import Contacts. Select the Gmail option here. After this you will be asked about Gmail ID and password. You give these details first. After this you will have to grant access to Kai OS. After this, whenever you open the contact account, Google contacts will start appearing in the Jio phone. Let us tell you that here the contact is imported once. There is no frequent syncing with your Gmail address book like a smartphone.
Similarly, contacts can also be imported from Outlook contacts. You have to select Outlook in the Import Contacts option. Use your Outlook ID and password to receive contacts.
How to change interface language
Support for 22 languages is available in Jio phone. These include other languages like English, Hindi, Marathi and Bengali. To customize the interface language, go to the Personalization tab inside the Settings app. After this scroll down to the Language option. After this click on OK. Then choose the language of your choice. As soon as you select a new language, the entire interface of the handset will be transformed into that language.
Call forwarding method
If you want to use the call forwarding feature in your Jio phone, then open the call settings in the Network and Connectivity tab. Now scroll down to Call Forwarding. Select the option of your choice here. To turn on this feature, you will also have to provide another number.

If you want that no other person can access your Jio phone without your consent, then you can set a passcode lock. For this open the Settings app. Now go to Privacy & Security and select Screen lock. Here choose the option to activate the screen lock. After this the handset will ask you to select a new screen lock. After this, choose a four-digit passcode that you can remember. Done. You have set the passcode. Now this password will have to be used to unlock the phone.
Use of Jio Phone for file storage through USB
When you get Jio phone, you will not be able to transfer files from any storage device to it. Because this feature is not active by default. To enable it, select the Storage tab in Settings. After this select the USB storage option. Select the Enable option here. After this you will be able to transfer files through USB cable. However, if you have set a passcode to lock the phone, you will need to unlock it to transfer files to the phone.
Prevent websites from tracking you
Jio Phone’s default web browser records your online activity like any other browser. You will not get the option to delete your history in the official app. For this also you will have to go to the Settings app. After this scroll down to Privacy & Security tab. Select the Browsing Privacy option here. Here you can delete browsing history and stored data. This is where you can block tracking on a website or app with the Do Not Track option.
How to check software updates
Jio phone is a feature phone which comes with many smart features. But all these smart features do not work fully yet, such as digital payments. The hardware is present in the handset but the software features will be provided through OTA update. If you want to check if your phone has received a software update or not. You have to go to the Settings app. Here select the Devices tab. After this select Device Information. Now scroll down to LYF Software Update. Here you can get information about OTA updates.
