Hero MotoCorp to Launch Vida Z Electric Scooter, Will Increase Export in European Market, Ola Electric, TVS Motor

Hero MotoCorp, one of the largest two-wheeler companies, plans to expand the portfolio of its EV sub-brand Vida. The company has said that it will soon launch Vida Z with a battery pack of up to 4.4 kWh. Hero MotoCorp sells the V1 electric scooter.

The company’s two-wheelers are sold in 48 countries. It is also planning to introduce electric scooters in Europe. Sales of electric two-wheelers have increased rapidly in the last few years. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, said that the company also plans to bring high capacity motorcycles. These motorcycles will also be sold in Europe. The company’s new electric scooter will be Vida Z. Permanent magnet synchronous motor will be used in this. This electric scooter will be made available in battery packs ranging from 2.2 kWh to 4.4 kWh. However, information about the specifications and range of Vida Z has not been given.

Hero MotoCorp’s Vida V1 and V1 Pro compete with Ola Electric’s S1 Pro and Ather Energy’s 450X. The company plans to launch electric two-wheelers in different price segments. The company has increased the pace of its plans for EV. Under this, new electric two-wheelers will be launched in various segments. Hero MotoCorp plans to launch motorcycles along with electric scooters. The battery of the company’s V1 Pro is 3.94 kWh and range is 165 kilometers, while the battery of V1 Plus is 3.44 kWh and range is about 143 kilometers.

The company has delayed its launch in this segment, which has benefited startups like Ather Energy and Ola Electric. Hero MotoCorp had invested in some electric vehicle startups before launching its first model in this segment. The battery of the company’s V1 Pro is 3.94 kWh and range is approximately 165 kilometers, while the battery of V1 Plus is 3.44 kWh and range is approximately 143 kilometers. The share of e-scooters and e-bikes in the total sales of two-wheelers in the country is a little more than two percent. However, competition in this segment is increasing rapidly. Ola Electric has more than 30 percent stake in this.
