Honda Cars Register More than 10 Percent Growth in January, SUV Elevate Getting Strong Demand

The company launched Elevate in September last year. Its average sales each month are more than 4,000 units. Honda Cars had sold 7,821 units in January last year. Elevate has helped Honda cars in increasing sales in the last few months. Regarding this, Yuichi Murata, Director (Marketing and Sales) of the company’s India unit, said, “There is positive demand for our models at the beginning of the new year. Elevate’s strong performance continues.”
Recently Honda Cars had increased the price of Elevate by Rs 58,000. Its starting price is Rs 11.58 lakh. The price of its top-end dual-tone variant has increased to Rs 16.48 lakh. The compact SUV Elevate has a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine. It generates power of 119 BHP at 6,600 rpm and torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. It has a 10.25 inch LCD infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. Wireless charging facility is also available in Elevate.
In the last few months, Elevate’s share in the company’s sales has been more than 50 percent. Its CVT variant is in high demand. It competes with Hyundai’s Creta, Kia’s Seltos, Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara, Volkswagen’s Taigun and MG Motor’s Astor. More than 90 percent of its components have been locally sourced. Its manufacturing is being done in the company’s factory at Tapukara in Rajasthan. It is also being exported from the country. A lot of space has been given in its interior. It is available in Phoenix Orange Pearl, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic and Meteoroid Gray Metallic colors. It has six speed manual transmission and CVT option.
