How ‘powerful’ and expensive is Oppo F9 Pro compared to Xiaomi Poco F1?

6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant of Xiaomi Poco F1 will be sold in the market for Rs 20,999. On the other hand, the price of 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant will be Rs 23,999. The 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant of the phone will be sold for Rs 28,999. The smartphone has a polycarbonate back. It will be available in Rosso Red, Steel Blue and Graphite Black colors. Apart from this, an armored edition of Poco F1 has also been introduced which is priced at Rs 29,999. It has been told that this phone is only for online market. It will be available on Flipkart and Mi.com from 12 noon on August 29. Poco F1 will be available in Red, Steel Blue and Graphite Black color options.
Customers participating in the first sale will get an instant discount of Rs 1,000 if they use HDFC Bank debit or credit card. Apart from this, Reliance Jio will provide an additional benefit of Rs 8,000 along with 6 TB data. A free softcover will be available in the retail box. An ultra-slim cover worth Rs 399 has been brought for the phone. The armored case with Kevlar finish will be sold for Rs 799. Even though it is a new sub-brand, Poco F1 will be serviced at Xiaomi service centers only.
Oppo F9 Pro has been launched in three color options. The price of Oppo F9 Pro is Rs 23,900. Pre-booking of Oppo F9 Pro has started on Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm Mall and select offline stores and the sale of the handset will start from August 31. Available in Sunrise Red, Twilight Blue and Starry Purple colors. On pre-booking, you will get up to 3.2 TB 4G data from Reliance Jio. You will get a benefit of Rs 4,900 on Jio and Make My Trip. One time free screen replacement, 5% instant cashback on payment through SBI card is also being given.
Specifications of Xiaomi Poco F1 vs Oppo F9 Pro
The dual-SIM Xiaomi Poco F1 will run on MIUI 9.6 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. MIUI 10 update is promised soon. The company has also promised to provide Android P update. Xiaomi has informed that it is using a customized version of MIUI for Poco F1. Slight changes have been made to the interface. Poco launcher looks like stock Android UI. There is also support for third party app icons.
Poco F1 has a 6.18-inch display which comes with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass protection. Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor has been used in the phone which comes with LiquidCool technology. As we told you earlier, 6 GB and 8 GB RAM has been provided for Jugalbandi.
Talking about camera setup, Xiaomi Poco F1 has two cameras on the back. The primary sensor is 12 megapixels. This is Sony IMX363 sensor. This sensor has been used in Xiaomi’s flagship phones like Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2s. The second is Samsung’s depth sensor of 5 megapixels. The front camera is 20 megapixels which is equipped with HDR and AI beauty feature. The phone has infrared light which is used in the face unlock feature. Xiaomi said that the AI camera has been tuned for India and also has a scene recognition feature. The company has talked about having Direct HD sound support.
Poco F1 has three inbuilt storage options – 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. With the help of hybrid SIM slot, users can increase the storage up to 256 GB. Connectivity features include 4G+, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and 3.5mm headphone jack. Accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope and proximity sensor are part of this phone. It is worth noting that the phone has a 4000 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.
The dual SIM Oppo F9 Pro will run on ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone will feature a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone has a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor. 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage will be available. Apart from this, both the variants also have support for microSD card up to 256 GB.
The phone has a 16-megapixel primary sensor with F/1.85 aperture on the rear. The secondary sensor is of 2 megapixels, whose aperture is F/2.4. And LED flash is also provided. A 25-megapixel camera with F/2.0 aperture is provided on the front panel. Oppo F9 will have a 3500 mAh battery with VOOC flash charging. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. The dimensions of the smartphone are 156.7x74x7.9 mm and its weight is 169 grams.
