How to block Your Stolen Lost Mobile Phone via Sanchar Saathi Portal Unblock Steps to Follow

Incidents of mobile phone theft are common in the country. Every day, hundreds of reports of lost phones are filed in the country. If your mobile phone has ever been stolen or lost, then you must have been worried about your data or you must have wished that your phone does not become useful to the person who stole it. For this, the Department of Telecommunications recently launched the ‘Sanchar Saathi’ portal, through which people across India will be able to block and track their lost or stolen mobile phones. At the same time, it will now be easy to check the mobile phones already used through this. People can find out whether the second-hand device they are going to buy is stolen or not.

The portal offers the option to block lost or stolen mobile phones and also report the mobile phone. Apart from this, users can also trace their lost or stolen phone using the IMEI number of the device. The good thing is that once the phone is blocked, no one will be able to use it and the network of any telecom operator across India will not work on it.

How to block a lost or stolen mobile phone

  • Firstly visit the Sanchar Sathi Portal (https://sancharsathi.in) through any web browser on mobile or PC.
  • Here you will find the top ‘Citizen Centric ServicesClick the ‘ tab, or scroll down to ‘Block your lost/stolen mobile‘ Select the option.
  • If you want to block your mobile phone, tap on the red ‘Block Stolen/Lost Mobile‘ Click on option.
  • Now a form will appear in front of you. Fill in all the relevant information asked in it and verify any of your numbers through OTP.SubmitClick on the ‘ button.

Note: Here you have to carefully fill in the correct details like mobile number present in the lost or stolen phone (if there were 2 numbers, then both), brand name of the phone, location of lost or stolen phone, date of lost or stolen phone, police complaint and its number, name of the phone owner, address, mobile number, any ID number etc.

As soon as the form is submitted, the mobile phone will be completely blocked and no one will be able to use it again. Even if someone inserts a SIM in that phone, that SIM will not work in the phone.

How to unblock a lost or stolen mobile phone

Now if you get your mobile phone back, you will have to unblock the SIM before using it. To do this, follow the steps given below.

  • Firstly visit the Sanchar Sathi Portal (https://sancharsathi.in) through any web browser on mobile or PC.
  • Here you will find the top ‘Citizen Centric ServicesClick the ‘ tab, or scroll down to ‘Block your lost/stolen mobile‘ Select the option.
  • Now the green colour’Unblock Found MobileClick on ‘.
  • Here you have to fill in the required details like Request ID, mobile number (which was registered at the time of blocking), reason for un-blocking. Now complete the form by authenticating through Captcha and OTP. Submit Do this. By doing this, the application to unblock the mobile phone will be made.
