How to download movies in Reliance Jio’s JioCinema app without worrying about data

Since its launch, Reliance Jio has been providing free services to its customers, especially internet. This free service will continue till 31 March 2017. But now users get only 1 GB of data per day at high speed. This is enough for general use, but this is not good news for Reliance Jio customers who watch videos online.

Reliance Jio’s video on demand service JioCinema, formerly known as JioOnDemand, has many movies available to watch. Now a new feature has been added to this app. With its help, you can download movies and watch them later. The problem is that the medium quality file of a movie like Bajirao Mastani is 985 MB. Whereas, the high quality file is 1.91 GB. This means that even if you watch the movie in medium quality, then the entire day’s fast internet quota will be used up in just one movie.

To solve this problem, Reliance Jio has added a new feature Smart Download in JioCinema. With its help, downloading will happen between 2 am and 5 am. Let us tell you that this is the ‘Happy Hour’ in Reliance Jio’s current Happy New Year offer. There is no limit on internet consumption during this time period. When Reliance Jio becomes commercially available, customers will have to pay for data, but internet consumption will be absolutely free during these three hours.

This means the movie will be downloaded while you are sleeping. And the data consumption will not be deducted from the free data of Happy New Year offer. You can download more than one movie at a time if you want. And you will be able to check the status of the download in Reliance Jio My Downloads tab. The JioCinema app tells you how much space is occupied in your phone app. This way you will know how much storage needs to be cleared.

Let us tell you that not all movies and TV shows are available for download on Reliance Jio’s JioCinema app. If you want, you can know which movies are available for download by tapping on the menu button and selecting Available for Download.
