If your name is written differently in both the places, you will receive an Aadhaar OTP via SMS for confirmation. However, if other information like date of birth or gender does not match, you will have to visit the National Security Depository Limited website (for PAN) or UIDAI portal (for Aadhaar) and make changes so that the information matches.

However, linking PAN and Aadhaar through SMS or internet is mandatory for all tax paying people. But those people will also have to link both the cards whose income is not taxable. According to the government, this will help in tax reforms in the country.
