  2. Open the Google Photos app on your smartphone or tablet.
  3. Tap and drag to select the photos or videos you want to share.
  4. Tap on the Share icon and look for the Create link option.
  5. Open any app like WhatsApp or Gmail and then paste the link to share.

Sharing photos via a link may be easy, but it is not a very private method. Anyone who has the link can access the photos and videos. If you want to do it more privately, you can do it with Google Photos’ in-app messaging service or through a shared album. If you are near the person or in the same room, you can also share heavy videos and photos via Nearby Share.

How to share Google Photos with Shared Albums

  1. Open the Google Photos app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Tap Sharing and then select Create shared album.
  3. After giving the album a title, tap Select photos to select the images and videos.
  4. After selecting all the required photos, tap on Share.
  5. You can now select the contacts you want to share with in the Google Photos app.

  1. Open the Google Photos app on your smartphone or tablet.

  3. Select the Share button.
  4. Look for the Send option in the Google Photos section.

Here you can select the contacts with whom you want to share.

How to share Google Photos with via Nearby Share (Android only)

  1. Open the Google Photos app on your Android smartphone.
  2. Tap to select a photo, or tap and drag to select videos and photos to share.
  3. Select the Share button.
  4. Tap Nearby Share and then select the user you want to share with.
  5. The person receiving the call will also have to enable Nearby Share by going to Settings.

Ask the receiver to tap Accept so the transfer can begin. Then wait for the process to complete.
