How to turn off birthday, live video and other notifications on Facebook

Facebook is one place where you get a lot of notifications. However, these push notifications can be easily disabled on a smartphone. If you are having trouble with Facebook in particular, then follow these steps.

On the phone
If you’re using the Facebook app on your iPhone or iPad, here’s how to stop annoying Facebook notifications.

  1. Open the Facebook app
  2. Tap on the ‘More’ button at the bottom right
  3. Tap Settings and go to Account Settings.
  4. Tap on Notifications. Here you can get rid of notifications like birthday reminders and live videos.

Follow these steps to disable notifications on the Facebook app on Android

  1. Open the Facebook app
  2. Tap on the three horizontal lines appearing at the top
  3. Tap on Account Settings
  4. Now tap on notifications and disable the ones you don’t want to see.

On PC

  1. To get rid of notifications from apps and games (like Candy Crush Saga or 8 Ball Pool), go to Facebook App Settings page Go to. For this, you have to sign in to your Facebook page.
  2. Go to Game & app notifications and click on Edit.
  3. Now click on Turn Off.

  5. Apart from this, to disable notifications like birthday reminders, go to Facebook’s Notification settings page Go to.
  6. Click on the button next to Birthday and then click off. This will disable birthday notifications on Facebook. You will still see birthday reminders on your News Feed page, but you will not receive any notifications for it.
  7. You can turn them off by going to this same settings page and clicking on the button next to ‘Other types of notifications’.

In this way you will get rid of all the disturbing notifications on Facebook.
