HP launches cheap laptop with 12 hours battery life

HP has unveiled its affordable Chromebook 11 G5. The price of this laptop will start from $189 (about Rs 12,800). It will be available online from July and sales through offline retail stores will start from the month of October.

This laptop will come with Chrome OS interface, which means there will be support for Android apps in the laptop. Google recently released the list of Chromebooks that come with Google Play support. During this time it was also told that users will be able to use Android apps on all new devices. Support for touchscreen is also available in one variant of this laptop. This is a great feature to use.

Talking about specifications, you will get two options for display. Users will be able to choose between an 11.6-inch HD (1366×768 pixels) IPS touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass protection and an 11.6-inch HD (1366×768 pixels) anti-glare standard display. HP Chromebook 11 G5 comes with Intel Celeron N3060 (dual-core, 2 MB cache, 2.40 GHz clock speed) with 2 GB or 4 GB RAM. It also has an HP TrueVision HD webcam. In storage you will get the option of 16 GB or 32 GB.

The weight of the touchscreen variant is 2.51 kg while that of the standard model is 2.61 kg. Apart from this, the battery of the touchscreen variant of HP Chromebook 11 G5 will last for 11 hours once fully charged. The battery of the standard model will last for 12 hours 30 minutes. Both models will come with two USB 3.1 ports and a headphone jack.

HP says the Chromebook 11 G5 is designed with students and teachers in mind. The company is eyeing the education related market. For this, the company took feedback from students using Chromebooks and implemented them.
