The space agency shares these pictures on its social media handles like X or Instagram. Now NASA has shown one such picture taken from the International Space Station (ISS) which is very astonishing. Actually this photo is of a storm named Hurricane Idalia.

NASA has shared the photo of Hurricane Idalia which occurred in August last year. It looks very big in size from the space station. NASA scientists observe and study the tornadoes and storms arising on Earth while staying on the space station. This helps scientists understand how climate change affects storms. Also, it helps us learn how the population living on Earth can better prepare for such storms in a constantly warming world.

In the photo shared by NASA, some part of the International Space Station (ISS) is also visible. This part can be seen on the left side. The large white circle seen in the photo is the Idalia storm. This photo captured by NASA is of 23 August 2023. Which is taken from the high definition camera installed on the space station. This storm is visible over the Gulf of Mexico. It was a category 1 storm.

Hurricane Idalia was said to have winds of 140 kilometers per hour. It made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida. There is a time for such storms to arrive in the West. According to Fox News, the season for hurricanes originating from the Atlantic begins on June 1. It continues till the end of the year, in which such severe storms often arise on Earth by November 30.
