Indian Origin Astronaut Sunita Williams Dances On Her Arrival At Space Station watch video

The Boeing Starliner was successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS) in space yesterday. Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams was the pilot of this spacecraft, who created history by flying a crew spacecraft as the first woman. She is accompanied by NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore, who is also the commander of the mission. On Thursday, the Boeing Starliner successfully docked with the ISS. However, this process was delayed by 1 hour, as NASA reported a minor helium leak in the spacecraft due to a technical fault.

59-year-old Sunita Williams managed to reach the space station for the first time as a female pilot. Earlier, Sunita Williams had also taken the idol of Lord Ganesha and the Bhagavad Gita with her to the space station. Sunita Williams has gone on a space trip for the third time. On reaching the space station, the crew members already present there also gave her a warm welcome. The video of which has been shared by Boeing Space on its X handle.

Sunita Williams looked very happy on reaching the space station. She also danced a little there to express her happiness. She also hugged the 7 crew members already present on the ISS. Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore were welcomed in a special way which is also said to be an old tradition of the International Space Station. The crew welcomed them by ringing a bell. Sunita addressed the crew members as her second family. She also thanked the crew for the warm welcome given to her.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are the first astronauts to board the Starliner. They successfully docked the spacecraft with the ISS and completed their 26-hour journey. Due to technical glitches, it took 1 hour more, otherwise the journey was estimated to take 25 hours.

The mission was launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Earlier, SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule was the only spacecraft that used to send astronauts to the Space Station (ISS) for NASA. Starliner is its competitor. This spacecraft has been named Calypso, which has been developed by Boeing. There were many obstacles before it took off. But on Wednesday, it finally took its first flight. Under the mission, both crew members will spend a week on the ISS. After that, they will again board the Starliner for return on June 14.
