Indian Origin Scientist Creates World Lightest and First Energy Saving Paint Inspired By Butterflies

Till now you have heard about paint that does not allow dust and water to stick. But now a scientist has prepared such a paint which will throw the heat away from itself. That means it has repellent properties. Also, it is being said to be the lightest paint in the world. A scientist of Indian origin has prepared it in Florida.

Professor Debashish Chand at the Nanoscience Technology Center of the University of Central Florida has prepared a special kind of paint which is said to be inspired by butterflies. One of our sister websites Report According to, it is being said that this paint can last for centuries. Also, it is said to be the lightest paint in the world. This discovery was published in Science Advances. published Has also been done.

According to Professor Chand, there are countless colors present in nature which have been given to creatures ranging from flowers, birds and butterflies to fish. He says that his interest in structural colors comes from butterflies. He wanted to make a butterfly since childhood. Describing his research, he said that he wanted to create a material which is non-toxic, which also has cooling properties and which is very light in weight, which other paints are not able to do. However, this paint has been prepared in the lab only. It may take a lot of time to prepare it in quantities sufficient for commercial use.
