Indian Railways Working on Super App With Features Offered by Multiple Apps

Indian Railways is soon going to launch an app in which users will get many types of services at one place. For example, along with booking tickets, PNR status can also be checked through this app, train tracking can also be done, food delivery will also be included. That means Railways is working on developing a super app. Currently, many services are not available on the official app of Indian Railways, for which the user sometimes has to resort to third party apps. Or multiple apps have to be downloaded. But after the launch of this app, all the services are said to be available on a single platform.

This app of Indian Railways will be launched as a super app in which services of many apps will be available at one place. Like UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System), Rail Madad, and National Train Inquiry System. After preparing the app, Railways will have to spend Rs 90 crore to operate it for 3 years. of ET Report According to , the app will be developed by the Center for Railway Information System (CRIS), an autonomous body owned by the Railway Ministry.

According to a railway official, now the user will not have to download many apps for railway information. This will improve the user experience. Because all types of railway services will be available in one app. Not only will it include the services of the three apps mentioned above, it will also provide services of other railway apps like flight ticket booking, in-train food delivery, ticket purchase management etc. Other railway apps have been downloaded crores of times, but after the arrival of the super app, all types of information will be available to the users in a jiffy.

After the launch of single app, digital services of Railways will be accessible to more users. This will eliminate the need for multiple apps. Earlier, another app was launched by the Railways in April last year. Western Railway had launched ‘Yatri App’ to increase the convenience of passengers. ‘Yatri App’ is such an app on which passengers can see the live status of the train as well as announcements, latest time table, maps of main railway stations etc. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store as well as Apple Store. Apart from this, the app can also be downloaded from the railway website.
