India’s plan to build an Iron Dome like air defense system will destroy the enemy in the air like Israel

The whole world knows about Israel’s Iron Dome system. An air defense system that can destroy missiles, planes, drones etc. coming from enemy countries. India is also preparing to deploy a similar air defense system. According to a report, India is ready to introduce long-range air defense system by the year 2028-2029. It will accurately detect and destroy stealth fighters, aircraft, drones, cruise missiles coming up to a range of 350 kilometers.

Although nothing has been said about this by the government or the army, but according to a report in Times of India, Project Kusha of Defense Research and Development Organization i.e. DRDO is doing this work. According to the report, this long range indigenous missile (LR-SAM) system will have capabilities like Russia’s S-400 air defense system.

The report says Cabinet approval has been given in May 2022 to develop the LR-SAM system as a “mission-mode” project. After this, the Defense Ministry has approved the Acceptance of Requirement (AON) for the procurement of 5 squadrons for this system. It will cost Rs 21,700 crore.

The indigenous system that India is preparing will have different interceptor missiles. these missiles
Will detect enemy attack at a distance of 150 km, 250 km and 350 km and eliminate it. The report says that with the help of this system, up to 80 percent of enemy missiles or other attacks can be eliminated. Continuous firing will give 90 percent result.

India’s LR-SAM can be deployed in those areas which are important from strategic and tactical point of view. Usually in such systems, enemy rockets or missiles are tracked with the help of radar. When attacked, the radar tracks the missiles or rockets and destroys them in retaliation.
