Instagram brings new feature, you will be able to like stories without sending DM
This feature called (Private Story Likes) allows users to like others’ Instagram stories without sending direct messages (DM). Till now users only had the option to re-share stories or reply with comments. Also, the responses shared on Instagram Story were shared on the DM inbox of the users. With the new update, users can mark their likes for Stories without using their DM inbox.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri made a statement on Twitter on Tuesday. Video Announced the rollout of Private Story Likes functionality through. With the new update, users can connect to the story by tapping on the heart icon like a regular feed post. Unlike regular Instagram posts, Private Story likes will not be visible. Mosseri said that it will be visible in the viewer sheet.
The Private Story Likes feature has been introduced in an effort to improve the messaging experience on Instagram. In December last year, Mosseri had announced that Instagram would focus on messaging and double the work on controls in the year 2022, so that transparency could be improved.
Earlier this month, Instagram had added several new features to enable users to easily remove posts, comments and other activities from the platform. With its help, users can bulk delete or archive their content including posts, stories, IGTV and reels. Comments, likes and sticker reactions can also be deleted and archived. Instagram also allows its users to filter their content and interactions.
Talking about this year’s priorities, Adam Mosseri has focused on video, messaging, transparency and creators as four key areas. Last month he had told that we are going to double our focus on videos. Mosseri had said that Instagram will focus on messaging and will double down on controls in the coming year to improve transparency. He said that to help and empower the creators, more earning opportunities will be provided on the app.
