Instagram Creator Lab Launched in India New Story Features Birthday Notes Rolling Out All Details

Instagram on Thursday announced the launch of its Creator Lab in India at an event in Mumbai. This educational resource focused on creators will include popular Instagram users from India. Captions will be available in English and Hindi along with five other languages ​​for everyone to learn. The Meta-owned company also announced the launch of three new features on the photo and video sharing platform, aimed at increasing engagement on the platform through Stories, Direct Messages (DM) and Notes.

According to Instagram, based on the company’s Born on Instagram program launched in 2019 Instagram Creator Lab Will offer resources for content creators in India. According to details shared by Paras Sharma, Director (Global Partnerships), Meta India, the content for Creator Lab will be sourced from other creators.

Instagram Creator Lab will include content from 14 creators from across the country. They will share insights and strategies for aspiring creators and the content will be available in Hindi and English, while Meta will also provide captions in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

The first feature launched by Instagram on Thursday is called ‘Comments in Stories’ and it allows comments on a user’s Stories, which will also be visible to other users. The company recently allowed users to comment on Posts and Reels, which are visible only to their followers.

According to the company, these comments will disappear 24 hours after the story is posted. However, if a user adds a story to their Highlights, the comments will remain visible. Instagram also says that it will give users the option to turn off the ‘Comments in Stories’ feature. Gadgets 360 was able to confirm that the feature was available on some staff members’ apps.

Instagram recently introduced the ability to use cutouts of images as stickers on Stories, and the same function is now being expanded to chats on the platform. According to the company, users will soon be able to send cutouts of photos from their camera roll as stickers in DMs.

Another feature called Birthday Notes will soon be launched for users on Instagram and is aimed at increasing engagement on the platform.
