ISRO launches XPoSat Mission

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched ‘X-ray Polarimeter’ satellite in the New Year. This satellite will study the mysteries of celestial bodies like black holes. According to PTI report, the satellite was launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh through ISRO’s most reliable satellite launch vehicle PSLV. After taking off at 9.10 am, the ‘X-ray Polarimeter’ satellite was placed in a low Earth orbit about 650 kilometers above the Earth.

This satellite will help scientists in finding out the secrets of X-ray sources and studying the mysterious world of ‘black holes’. According to ISRO, this is its first satellite which will detect X-ray emissions and will provide important information to ISRO for about 5 years.
