ISRO Mangalyaan 2 Mission launch date preparation of Mars Orbiter Mission 2 MOM 2

After the success of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions, Indian Space Agency ISRO is planning new missions. Mangalyaan-2 mission could be one of them. About 9 years ago in 2014, ISRO had launched its first Mars mission. Now preparations are being made for Mangalyaan-2 with new objectives. ISRO’s spacecraft entered the orbit of Mars through Mangalyaan-1. Mangalyaan-2 will focus on goals beyond this.

ISRO’s new Mars mission can be called Mars Orbiter Mission-2 (MOM-2). Report According to this, the spacecraft will have 4 payloads. All four have been selected for different roles. With their help, the atmosphere, environment and dust of Mars will be studied.

These payloads will be part of MOM-2 mission

The 4 payloads are planned to be attached with Mangalyaan-2. They include the Mars Orbit Dust Experiment (MODEX), the Radio Occultation (RO) Experiment, the Energetic Ion Spectrometer (EIS), and the Langmuir Probe and Electric Field Experiment (LPEX).

Talking about MODEX, it has been designed to explore the high altitude areas of Mars. With the help of RO experiment, the electron density of Mars will be determined. The work of EIS will be to study solar energy particles and super thermal wind particles. At the same time, the plasma environment of Mars will be explored in depth through LPEX payload.

Nothing has been officially said about when the Mangalyaan-2 mission will be launched. Many things related to the mission are still in the development stage. It should be expected that India can once again fly for Mission Mars by next year or by 2025.
