July 2023 may be the hottest month in thousands of years 2024 will be worse says Nasa

Heat is breaking records all over the world. Not only the land but also the oceans are warming. Gavin Schmidt, top climatologist of the American space agency NASA, has said that the month of July 2023 will probably be the world’s hottest month in thousands of years. The tools used by the European Union and the University of Maine to collect temperature-related data have also revealed that many records have been broken in the month of July.

of ndtv Report According to Gavin Schmidt, we are seeing unprecedented change all over the world. Heat waves in America, Europe and China are breaking all old records. Many people may be holding El Nino responsible for this, but Schmidt does not agree with this.

He says that the seasonal pattern of El Nino alone cannot be held responsible for this heat, because it has just started. Its role is very small. We’re seeing overall warming everywhere, especially in our oceans. The sea surface temperature has remained high even in tropical areas for the past several months.

NASA estimates that this period of heat will continue. The reason for this is the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, whose emissions are not being seriously reduced by any country. Looking at the current situation, Schmidt is estimating 50-50 that 2023 could be the hottest year. However, many scientists have expressed 80 percent possibility of this.

The worries do not end here. NASA predicts that the year 2024 will be an even hotter year because it will start with El Nino. El Nino will be at its peak at the end of this year. The warning from NASA’s Gavin Schmidt has come at a time when global temperatures broke records last week and incidents of fire were reported across the world.
