Kia Sales Increase More than 3 Percent, Sonet, Seltos Getting Strong Demand
Last month the company sold 7,433 units of Sonet. After this, 6,736 and 5,316 units of Seltos and Carens have been sold respectively. Last month the company’s exports stood at 2,304 units. With this, Kia has exported more than 2.5 lakh units to more than 100 countries. Seltos has about 60 percent share in its exports. Kia’s head of sales and marketing, Hardeep Singh Brar, said that the company has introduced new variants of its models at a rapid pace. This has made it easier to increase sales.
The company claims to have sold more than 9.8 lakh units of passenger vehicles in the country. Seltos’s share in this is about 50 percent. Recently Sonet had crossed the sales of four lakh units in the country. It was launched about four years ago. This includes sales in the country as well as exports. Its 3,17,754 units have been sold in the country and 85,814 units have been exported. The company launched the updated Sonet earlier this year. 63 percent of the customers who bought Sonet have chosen its sunroof variants. Apart from this, 63 percent have bought its petrol engine model and about 37 percent have bought its 1.5 liter diesel engine model.
It competes with Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza and Hyundai’s Venue. This is an SUV of less than four meters. However, the best selling model in the country for Kia is the Seltos. The design of DRL has been changed slightly in the updated Sonet. There have also been changes in its headlights and front bumper. It is available in eight single and two dual-tone colours. Its monotone colors are Olive, White, Silver, Grey, Red, Blue, Clear White and Black. Dual-tone colors include black roof with red and black roof with white.
