The Uttar Pradesh government has started a large investment scheme of Rs 10,732 crore to make Lucknow the country’s most advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) City. This funding found under Indiaai Mission will make the city a tech hub of global level, which has made a complete focus on real infrastructure development, AI innovation and skill training. The project has been approved in July 2025 and its effect will be clearly visible from roads to startups and government systems in the next few months.
In this mission, more than 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs), many modern language models and a dedicated AI innovation center will be prepared in Lucknow. Work has started in Lucknow-based traffic management, facial recognition smart surveillance camera, number plate tracking, SOS alerts and latest smart city solutions like data integration. In the health sector, AI is also being implemented from AI to Breast Cancer Screening Center, Smart Irrigation and Drone Mapping, Revenue-Land Records and Satellite Based Security Modules for policing. That is, AI technology will show a ground-level effect in every sector.
The government has allotted funding on India AI’s seven pillar models (innovation, data, talent, infrastructure, governance, compliance and international partnerships). From Extreme AI skill training to local startups, from direct support, cloud and supercomputeing infrastructure to students will get superwaized training in subjects like AI based GIS mapping, coding and data analysis.
