Mahindra Be6 and Xev 9e Customers Can Avoid Buying Charger, Tesla

Mahindra & Mahindra’s BE6 and XEV 9E will not be the condition of buying charger with big automobile companies. The company earlier made it mandatory to buy certified charger from Mahindra with both these electric SUVs. However, the condition has been removed based on the feedback received from the customers.

Customers of BE6 and XEV 9E were mandatory for the 11.2 kW battery pack to pay around Rs 75,000 from the charger and about Rs 50,000 for a charger of 7.2 kW. However, the company has given the option not to choose it by changing its policy. If the customers have a charger to complete the safety standard of Mahindra, then they can avoid this cost. Last month, booking was started for both these electric SUVs. The initial price of BE6 is about Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and XEV 9E is about Rs 21.90 lakh.

Booking for these electric SUVs can be done on the company’s dealerships and its website. The manufacturing company of XEV 9E and BE 6, introduced last year, is being done at Chakan’s plant in Maharashtra. These electric SUVs will be delivered from this month. The company has started delivering the XEV 9E and BE 6 to its dealerships. Mahindra & Mahindra has a major stake in the SUV market. However, Tata Motors ranks first in the segment of electric vehicles (EV).

Mahindra has made BE 6 available in five variants. The XEV 9E and BE 6 have received a five-star rating in the India NCAP crash test. The company claims that the range of BE 6’s 59 kwh battery pack variants is about 535 km and 79 kwh about 682 kilometers. The range of 59 kwh battery of XEV 9E has been claimed to be about 542 km and about 656 km of 79 kwh battery variants. At the end of last year, Mahindra decided to temporarily change the name of Be 6e to ‘Be 6’. The Interglobe Aviation, which runs the IndiGo airline, had described the ‘6e’ trademark as its own and filed a petition against Mahindra in the court.
