Maruti Suzuki Fronx Crossover Getting Strong Response, More than 1.5 Lakh Units Sales

The compact crossover Fronx from the country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has received good response from customers. It was launched in April last year. Its sales have exceeded 1.5 lakh units. It is based on the company’s widely sold Baleno.

a media Report According to , 1,34,735 units of Fronx were sold in the last financial year. In April this year, the company had dispatched 14,286 units. With this, Fronx’s wholesales reached 1,49,021 units. Its average sales per day are around 475 units. In view of this, its sales are expected to cross 1.5 lakh units last month. Fronx crossed sales of one lakh units within 10 months of its launch.

Maruti Suzuki is also exporting it to Middle East, Latin America and South-East Asia. It is available in 1.2 liter petrol engine and 1.0 liter turbo petrol boosterjet engine. Its 1.2 liter petrol engine generates maximum power of 88 bhp and peak torque of 113 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Apart from the manual gearbox, the Fronx is also available with a 5-speed AMT. The company claims that it gives a mileage of 21.8 kmpl with manual gearbox and 22.89 kmpl in AMT variants.

Its 1.2 liter engine variant is also available with CNG. However, this is only with manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki claims that the mileage of the CNG variant is 28.51 km/kg. Fronx is sold through the company’s Nexa retail network. Maruti Suzuki sales have declined by two percent last month. High base effect, excess heat and Lok Sabha elections are the main reasons behind this. However, the company is hopeful that the pace of its sales will increase due to a good upcoming monsoon season. The company has pending orders for more than 2.25 lakh units. Of these pending orders, more than 40,000 are for the recently launched new Swift. Apart from this, about 75,000 orders are for CNG variants. CNG cars contribute more than 32 percent to the company’s sales. It is getting a lot of demand for CNG variants of Brezza and Ertiga.
