India NCAP is an important step towards improving road safety in the country. Under this, safety standards have been increased for motor vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. This will make it easier for car buyers to assess the crash safety of motor vehicles available in the automobile market. Under Bharat NCAP, car makers can voluntarily get their cars tested. Earlier, testing of cars was done by Global NCAP. India is the fifth country in the world to launch such a system for car crash testing.

However, it is not known when these Maruti Suzuki cars will be tested. The company’s Baleno and Brezza have previously been tested through Global NCAP and had mixed results. Maruti’s Grand Vitara received a four-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test about six years ago. Star ratings will be given based on the performance of the car in this crash test. Before buying a car, customers will be able to compare the safety standards of different vehicles by looking at these star ratings.
