Maruti Suzuki Swift Crosses 30 Lakh Units Sales

The company launched Swift in 2005. It was successful from the very beginning. It has also overtaken the total sales of 26.6 lakh units of the company’s first model Maruti 800. Swift achieved sales of 10 lakh units in November 2013. After this, in November 2018 it reached sales of 20 lakh units. Its next 10 lakh units were sold in 6.5 years. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki, said, “Swift has set new benchmarks and offers modern technology. We thank Swift customers across the country for this achievement.”
Company sales have declined by two percent last month. High base effect, excess heat and Lok Sabha elections are the main reasons behind this. However, Maruti Suzuki is hopeful that the pace of its sales will increase due to a good upcoming monsoon season. The company has pending orders for more than 2.25 lakh units. Of these pending orders, more than 40,000 are for the recently launched new Swift. Apart from this, about 75,000 orders are for CNG variants. CNG cars contribute more than 32 percent to the company’s sales.
Maruti Suzuki is getting a lot of demand for CNG variants of Brezza and Ertiga. The waiting period for these is four to six weeks. The number of arena sales outlets of the company has reached 3,000. It has these outlets in more than 2,500 cities and towns. The company opened the first Arena outlet in 2017. It has also opened Nexa dealerships to provide a more premium experience to customers. It sells WagonR, Swift, Brezza, Dzire, Ertiga, Eeco, Alto K10, Celerio and S-Presso through the Arena network.
