Meta whatsapp confirmed the hack attempt on journalists Civil Society Members by Israeli Spyware Zero Attack

Meta -owned WhatsApp says that about 100 journalists and members of the civil society were targeted by Spaiware of the Israeli firm Paragon Solutions. The ‘Zero-Click’ spyware attack potentially affected around 90 users from 20 countries. Meta expressed “high confidence” on targeting, although the attackers are unknown. WhatsApp had earlier sued an Israeli group for a similar spyware attack on 1,400 devices including 300 in India. META condemned spyware companies and also committed to protect the privacy of users. WhatsApp has released a ceasefire for Paragon and released security-related guidelines for affected users.

The Guardian’s Report It is reported that META on Friday alleged that about 100 journalists and other members of the civil society used by META -owned messaging platform Whatsapp were targeted by Spieware owned by Paragon, an Israeli manufacturer manufactured hacking software. WhatsApp told Publication that journalists and other members were being alerted about their device’s possible agreement. Not only this, the platform claimed that it was “high confidence” that 90 of these users were targeted and “possibly compromised”.

However, it is not clear who was behind the attack. Let us tell you that Paragon’s hacking software is believed to be used by government customers and said that it is not able to identify customers who ordered alleged attacks.

The report further states that experts say that targeting was a “zero-click” attack, which means that the target will not have to click on any malicious link to get infected. However, whatsapp did not tell the publication that journalists and civil society were located in America and where they lived.

WhatsApp is currently informing the alleged hacking’s wickets, which will be contacted by WhatsApp. Paragon Solutions have allegedly refused to answer the questions asked by the publication.
