MG Motor India launches Hector Blackstorm Edition range in India. Earlier, MG Astor and Gloster have also got this edition. Its main attraction is the dark black colored exterior and interior. Along with the new paint job, it also gets a gun-metal finish front grille with red accents added around it. The taillights have also been given a smoked shade as well as the 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers. The interior has also been painted black. Apart from the looks, there are no changes in the powertrain.

The starting price of MG Hector Blackstorm Edition in India is Rs 21.25 lakh (ex-showroom), in which the diesel-MT 6-seater variant is available. This edition of the SUV will also be made available with 5, 6 and 7-seat configurations. Depending on the variant, the Blackstorm Edition prices are Rs 25,000 more than the basic trims.

Starting with the design of the new edition, the Hector Blackstorm gets a starry-black exterior paint job. As we mentioned, the company has included a gun-metal finish front grille, black headlamp bezels, smoked taillights, blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers and black ORVMs with red highlights. On the inside, it gets an all-black layout with gunmetal accents on the center console, AC vents, door trims and steering wheel. The seats get black leatherette upholstery.

It has a large 14.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It has a 7.0 inch digital instrument cluster with connected car tech. The company has included powered driver seat with 360 degree camera and ventilated seats in these trims. Some other features include panoramic sunroof, six airbags, stability control, traction control and advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS).

What hasn’t changed is its powertrain. Hector Blackstorm is available in two engine options, out of which the petrol engine produces 143hp, 250Nm, while the diesel engine is capable of generating 170hp, 350Nm. The petrol engine only comes with a CVT transmission and the diesel only gets a 6-speed manual.
