Microsoft Lumia 532 Dual SIM Review
last year nokia Managed to reach customers through 52x and 62x Lumia series. But in recent times, budget phones built on Android platform have completely changed the market. especially XiaomiLenovo, Motorola, Asus and some other companies have completely captured the phone market under Rs 10000. Design
The Microsoft Lumia 532 Dual SIM phone won’t be known for its beauty. It looks heavy and not attractive at all. In reality, it appears to be another phone of the Asha series. We received the black model for review, but this phone was not sleek by any means. This phone is also available in white, green and orange colors. Its weight is 136 grams.
This is a budget phone so it is pointless to have high expectations. There is a 3.5mm headset socket in the upper part of the phone and a micro-USB port in the lower part. The power and volume buttons are on the right side and there is a camera at the back, which has no flash. And a space has been made below it for the speaker. There is a front camera in the front part of the phone, which is placed above the screen. This phone has a Microsoft logo in Nokia style, along with the company name text. The battery looks quite small. On removing the battery you can clearly see space for two micro SIM cards and a micro SD card.
Specifications
Looking at the Lumia 532 Dual SIM phone, it appeared as if it was a several years old model. Perhaps the reason for this is the phone screen. 4 inch display and resolution of 480×800 pixels, these specifications say a lot about the phone’s screen. The quality of the screen is also not good. Colors appear faded, the phone has brightness but becomes difficult to use when in direct sunlight.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor has been used in the phone, which has four cores of 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 and integrated Adreno 302 graphics. The phone has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. Like other Lumia phones, it can also use memory card up to 128 GB.
Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS are available in the phone. And it also has FM radio. The battery capacity is 1560mAh, which is very disappointing. There is nothing to be excited about in the camera either. The rear camera is 5 megapixels and the front camera is 0.3 megapixels. With the rear camera you can record video in 480 pixels. You get a headset and charger with the handset.
software
Microsoft Lumia 532 Dual SIM comes with Windows Phone 8.1 update. In the new operating system, the size of the Cortana tile on the homescreen is larger than before, but it does not work when India is selected as the location. However, choosing US English gets the job done. In the new phone you also get some useful in-house apps like Here Maps and Here Drive+. By the way, Bing Maps app is also preloaded in the phone. Lumia Camera is a great app but the fun gets spoiled due to the weak camera. Similarly, apps like Lumia Cinemagraph, Lumia Selfie, Lumia Storyteller and Lumia Creative Studio will not prove to be of much use. MixRadio is our favorite app, it has a great library of songs and you can create your own playlist. But sadly, the cheaper premium subscription plans are no longer available.
You can ignore many of Bing’s apps like Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, Money, News and Sport and they can also be removed from the phone. Microsoft has given more importance to third-party apps. BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, Foodpanda, Gameloft Hub, Jabong, Paytm, Redbus, Star Sports, Truecaller and Twitter were preloaded on the phone. Some of these are useful while others do nothing except eating. Well, the most important thing is that you now get more apps on the Windows Phone platform than before. Especially those common apps whose absence caused customers disappointment.
performance
Due to weak hardware this smartphone got very low scores. The same number of points this phone got in AnTuTu and WPbench tests was also achieved by Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM.
Many of our sample videos did not play on the phone. The Lumia 532 completely failed to play 720 pixel videos. Video files of 480 pixels can be played, but through third party apps. The sound in the speaker was loud but it was somewhat muffled.
Despite having a fixed focus lens, the performance of the rear camera was not that bad. Photos taken in low light turned out good. It is clear from this that Lumia 532 is much better than Xiaomi Redmi 2 in terms of camera. However, the videos turned out to be poor as expected and the front camera was of no use.
In the video loop test, its battery lasted for 9 hours and 4 minutes, which was a surprising result considering the size of the battery. It seems that Microsoft has made some changes to its software and hardware to reduce battery consumption and that is a good thing.
However, we faced some problems in using this phone. On some occasions we found that the phone had switched off on its own. And to turn it on, the battery had to be removed again and again. After not using the phone for some time, I found that it started updating on its own. This process took about 10 minutes, during which we could not use the phone.
our decision
Microsoft cannot win in the budget segment on the basis of features and specifications alone. Therefore, the company has tried to further improve the experience of its hardware and Windows Phone software. The company has been successful to some extent, but there are many things in which Android is still far ahead. There are not many advantages in Lumia 532 Dual SIM. If you believe in value for money then trust Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Motorola Moto E (Gen 2).
