The company says that its thickness is only 0.4 mm. A new stylus has also been launched. The company is calling it Surface Pen and it will come with an eraser. The new Surface Pen can detect 1,024 points of pressure. Surface Pen will come with Cortana integration.
The Surface Pro 4 tablet will come with multiple options of Intel’s sixth-generation Core processors. These include Core M3, Core i5 and Core i7. These configurations will have Intel HD Graphics 515, Intel HD Graphics 520 and Intel Iris Graphics respectively.
The company said that Surface Pro 4 is 30 percent faster than its predecessor Surface Pro 3 and 50 percent faster than Apple’s MacBook Air. The base model will have 4 GB RAM. Variants up to 16 GB RAM will be available. Apart from this, up to 1 TB storage (starting from 128 GB) will be available.
The device will come with a USB 3.0 port, Ethernet port, and a fingerprint scanner. It will also have two 4K Mini Display Ports. The company said that the battery of Surface Pro 4 can last up to 9 hours. Its rear camera is 8 megapixels and front camera is 5 megapixels.
Along with this a new type cover was also introduced. In this, more space has been given between the keys on the keyboard. The Type Cover will come with a glass trackpad. It is 40 percent larger than the Surface Pro 3. According to the company, it is lighter, thinner and stronger.
Microsoft also announced its first laptop, the Surface Book. The company claims that the Surface Book works twice as fast as the MacBook Pro. It has a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 3000×2000 pixels and a pixel density of 267 ppi. It also has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
