If for some reason you were away from the world of news, then let us tell you that Motorola’s latest device Moto X Play was recently launched in India. The price of its 16 GB variant is Rs 18,499. We had told in the review of this handset that if you are thinking of buying Moto X Play, then spend an additional Rs 1,500 and get the 32 GB variant.
On the other hand, OnePlus 2 is available (listed) on Amazon India website for Rs 24,999. If you believe in fairy tales then you can hope that very soon you will have this handset in your hands. The growing gap between the demand and supply of handsets in the market can be gauged from the fact that the company’s co-founder also admitted that shipping the product takes more time and effort than expected.
If availability is considered the main issue then we can provide you oneplus 2 In place of moto x play Would suggest to buy. Still, let us assume that we get both the devices at the same time. Then which device will be better? Let us do a comparative study of both the devices.
Design and display
Both the handsets come with a 5.5-inch full-HD display. If seen on paper, there is no significant difference between the two. But after using it one realizes that Moto X Play is much better. We had also mentioned in our review that the display of OnePlus 2 looks washed out and the panel of Moto
The design depends on your personal preference. If you liked the Sandstone Black finish first introduced by OnePlus, which is also present on the OnePlus 2, then there is no doubt about what your decision will be. Us motorola I have liked the latest design of Moto X Play and in this case Moto X Play is also no different. Both the smartphones come with the option of back cover using which you will change the look of your handset.
If you want to judge by numbers, then the Moto X Play (169 grams) smartphone is slightly lighter than the OnePlus 2 (175 grams). Well, both the devices are heavy headsets in their segment. The Play is slightly thicker than the OnePlus but is shorter in length.
Talking about the layout of the ports, both phones rely on the standard format, although the OnePlus 2 has something new as well. The home button present in it works as a fingerprint scanner. There are capacitive buttons on both sides of it. You will also be able to enable onscreen buttons. There is also an alert slider on the left side, with the help of which you can change between notification profiles on your device. You can also read about it in more detail in our review.

Performance and battery life
The Moto OnePlus 2 is better when it comes to benchmark results, but in daily usage, it is difficult to call either one better.
We also wrote in our review that OnePlus 2 gets a little hot when playing games continuously. We found that some apps were not working properly with OnePlus 2, which we did not see with Moto X Play. The call quality of both the phones was very poor in areas with poor network.
As far as battery life is concerned, the Moto X Play performed much better than the OnePlus 2 in our video loop test. The battery of both the phones will last for a day, today most users expect similar performance.
Both the SIM slots in both the smartphones support 4G. There is support for both the LTE bands currently being used in India.

Software and Camera
The Moto X Play and OnePlus 2 smartphones run almost stock version of Android 5.1.1. However, OnePlus 2 has more customization options. We would suggest you read the Moto
OnePlus also has additional features like app permission manager, multiple users with guest mode. On the other hand, the Moto X Play comes with Moto Display, Moto Assist, and Motorola’s virtual assistant. We liked the Moto display, but the OnePlus 2’s features are more useful. Also keep in mind that Motorola has an excellent record in rolling out software updates.
In camera performance, both the smartphones have their own shortcomings regarding focusing. But if we talk about overall performance, OnePlus 2 is better. Especially in low light, OnePlus 2 smartphone can take better pictures than Moto X Play. OnePlus 2 comes with 4K resolution recording and RAW support. This means that if you are deciding on the basis of camera performance then go for OnePlus 2. However, you’ll have to work harder to get the perfect shot (read our review for details).

Excessive
Both the smartphones come with features that are not present in each other. The Moto X Play has NFC and fast charging, along with a water repellent coating. However, its not being water resistant is very disappointing. Moto X Play comes with microSD card support (up to 128 GB).
Compared to the 32GB variant of the Moto X Play, the OnePlus 2 comes with double the storage and RAM. Fingerprint scanner is also present in it. It supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi, although this feature is not useful for every user. Another notable feature is the presence of a USB Type C port. For some people this may be the technology of the future and for others it may be a tension. The alert slider may appeal to some users, but most users will prefer to go to Settings for this action.
our decision
As we said earlier, both these smartphones are easily available at the moment so it is a bit difficult to suggest anyone to buy OnePlus 2. If you are looking for a phone that can take great photos and no other features matter to you, then you can wait for OnePlus 2.
For the rest, the Moto As far as the additional features present in it are concerned, it will appeal more to the common Indian consumer. Apart from this, it is 20 percent cheaper than OnePlus 2.
