Nasa is going to see a new moon tomorrow 30 dec What is hidden in Jupiter moon Io know

Nasa Jupiter Io Mission: Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, has many moons. Most of the talk is about Europa, but NASA’s new mission is going to explore Jupiter’s moon ‘Io’. Io is a celestial body which is home to volcanoes. There are many active volcanoes here about which the space agency wants to know. NASA’s Juno spacecraft will investigate the volcanic activities of Io. This work will be done under the supervision of Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NasaJPL).

Spacecraft will not land on the surface

Report According to , the Juno spacecraft will not land on the surface of ‘Io’ during the mission. It will be approximately 930 miles (1496.69 kilometers) away from Io and will orbit around it. During this time, the work of the spacecraft will be to check the temperature of the lava flowing on Io and to find out what kind of activities are taking place in it.

During the mission, the Juno spacecraft will use its three cameras and take high-resolution images of Io. It is said that in February next year i.e. after 2 months, Juno spacecraft will fly very close to Io. However, tomorrow also it is going to go closer to Io. The target has been set to complete the mission by 2025. During its journey to Io, Juno will change its orbit 18 times.

Juno spacecraft reached the orbit of Jupiter in 2016. Since then it is continuously monitoring him. On April 8 this year, Juno completed its 50th close pass of Jupiter. That means the spacecraft completed 50 revolutions around Jupiter. This spacecraft is also exploring other moons of Jupiter, among which Ganymede is prominent.

As interesting as Jupiter is for scientists, its moons are equally important. The evidence found so far suggests that Jupiter’s moons may be hot, salty and rich in life-supporting elements.
