The two spacecraft were flying in opposite directions on March 5 and 6, when this photo was taken. According to NASA, this image was captured despite LRO’s incredibly low camera exposure time of only 0.338 milliseconds, which is why Denuri appears expanded to almost ten times its original size. The report says the precision required to capture these images required careful timing and coordination from the LRO operations team at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
