NASA Shares Photos Of Massive Explosions On Sun That Unleashed Solar Flares

These days, there are continuous explosions on the surface of the Sun due to which energy storms move towards the Earth. The energy received in large amounts becomes a solar storm. These solar storms are also called solar flares or geomagnetic storms. So far, many solar storms have hit the Earth. Their big impact is seen on the Earth. According to space scientists, this is the 25th cycle of the Sun. When the Sun completes a cycle of 11 years, then in the 11th year, there are huge explosions on its surface due to which a huge amount of energy is released.

In its latest update, NASA has said that it has recorded two large explosions on the surface of the Sun. These have caused large solar storms on Friday and Saturday. These explosions have been recorded by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. Due to these, a huge amount of geomagnetic energy has been thrown towards the Earth, which is moving towards the Earth.

According to NASA, SDO recorded two powerful solar flares on May 10 and 11. One of these rose on May 10, 9:23 pm EDT and the other was at its peak on May 11 at 7:44 am EDT. SDO has also captured their images. They have been classified as solar flares of X5.8 and X1.5.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued an alert. Several Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are heading towards Earth. A NOAA alert has already been issued for the first of these. A different view was seen in space after the solar explosions. The effect of solar storms on Earth is often seen in the form of celestial lights. After these explosions, a play of lights was seen in space across the world. This is called aurora, which gets scattered in the Earth’s atmosphere. During this, the sky is surrounded by shades of pink, green, and purple. Aurora incidents have been reported to be seen in the sky from Europe to Australia.

These solar storms originate from a particular active part of the Sun. Scientists say that in Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), energy particles burst out which generate solar winds. This affects the magnetic field of the Earth. These penetrate its magnetic field and enter inside, due to which colorful shades are seen in the sky. But sometimes these pose a threat to electric networks and satellites. They also have the ability to destroy their functioning.
