WhatsApp has been spotted working on an ‘Avatar’ section. It will allow users to create virtual representations of themselves and share them as stickers in chats. This means that you will be able to send your own avatar based stickers to your friends and relatives while chatting. According to a feature tracker, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android includes code that allows creating avatars, similar to Facebook and Messenger. The company is also said to be planning to allow users to wear their own face masks during video calls. However, WhatsApp’s owner company Meta has not yet disclosed any details related to the avatar section.

‘Avatars’ were first spotted with WhatsApp beta version 2.22.15.5 for Android. The report suggests that users may be allowed to replace themselves with these avatars during video calls. WhatsApp has not announced this feature yet. It is said that it is in the development phase. There is no information yet about the launch of the feature.

An alleged screenshot of the avatar section has also been shared. This provides information about the possible avatars that users will be able to create. The option ‘Create your avatar’ appears below the image. Another screenshot says, ‘A new way to be present on WhatsApp’. It is said that the avatars for this platform have been taken from Facebook.

According to a recent report, WhatsApp is also working on introducing quick reactions for status updates on the Android app. The feature was reportedly spotted with WhatsApp beta version 2.22.16.10 for Android.
