New streaming platform jiohotstar launched, tie-up of jiocinema and disney+ hotstar

The new streaming platform Jiohotstar has been launched on Friday. It has brought JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar together. The complete content of both over-the-top platforms will be available in Jiohotstar. It will also show content from JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar shows and movies, in addition to various international studios and streaming platforms. The popularity of streaming platforms has increased rapidly with the cheap Internet in the last few years.

Joint venture JISTAR was created after the merger of Viacom18 and Star India last year. JISTAR has announced the launch of Jiohotstar in a press release. The company said that there will be live coverage of sports events along with about three lakh hours of content on the new streaming platform. JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar have a user base of more than 50 crores, including users of both platforms. However, it is not clear whether this user base includes the number of users having accounts of both platforms.

The logo of Jiohotstar is also new. Access of this platform is still kept free. Users will not need subscription to watch movies, shows or live sports events on it. However, it is unclear whether the pervall has been installed for special content or not. This streaming platform has a subscription plan for without obstruction and better experience. This means that advertisements will not be shown to the payment subscribers and they will be able to stream the content at high resolution. The existing subscribers of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar will be automatically shifted to the new platform.

The company has said that users will be able to set-up their jiohotstar subscription for the first time. Jiohotstar plans will start from Rs 149 for new subscribers. Content will be available in 10 Indian languages ​​on Jiohotstar. Content can also be seen on this from disney, nbcunivsal peacock, warner bros, discovery hbo and paramount. The company has said that the international premiers of the events will also be shown on this platform. A new section being called sparks on this platform has also been started. It will show the popular digital content creators through different formats.
