Look and Design
The Nexus 5X has been developed with usability in mind. The speaker grill on its front panel is like Motorola’s Moto X series smartphone.

There is a single nano SIM tray on the left side. There is no option for a second SIM and micro SD card. We faced an issue with the SIM tray. This was not fitting easily and at times it came out on its own. The 3.5 mm socket is at the bottom. Most interesting is the presence of a USB Type-C port.
Overall, we are not very satisfied with the design of the Nexus 5X. The bulge around the camera was more than we liked. Many times we inadvertently touched the camera lens while touching the fingerprint sensor. However, this problem will go away if you use the device continuously.
Specifications
This handset is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and integrated Adreno 418 graphics for graphics. The device also has 2 GB RAM. At the time of purchasing the handset, you will have the option of 16 GB or 32 GB storage. There is no support for microSD card in it.
The screen is 5.2 inches, which is not very big. Its resolution is 1080×1920 pixels with a pixel density of 423 ppi. The screen looks very crisp and clean. It has a 2700 mAh battery. The biggest feature of Nexus devices is Google’s pure Android experience. The latest Nexus handsets are equipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In Google’s language, Nexus 5X is equipped with ambient display. With its help, notifications will be visible on the screen and not much power will be used. As soon as you pick up the phone in your hands, it will automatically realize this and the screen will go into monochrome mode. However, during use we faced problems with this function.
It is very easy to set up the fingerprint and if you touch the sensor at any angle, it will recognize your fingerprint.
Marshmallow comes with a new Doze mode which is claimed to improve the battery life of the device. This feature will automatically send the device to low power state whenever your phone is not in active mode. During this period, many apps will not be able to work in the background.
However, it also has some shortcomings. Now you will not be able to know the battery percentage easily. Notification light also remains off many times. For this you will have to make changes by going to the settings.
camera
The camera app has become better than the previous version. However, you will not immediately understand how to switch between modes.
In terms of taking photos, the performance of the Nexus 5X was good. The textures were quite detailed, there was very little lack of compression. In daylight we managed to get some great close up shots. Colors were vibrant and exposure was generally spot on. The camera managed to take good pictures even at night. However, this was not possible if the subject was completely in shadow. When reviewing the photo in actual size, noise became visible and the focus also got disturbed at times. The front camera will prove useful for video chatting.
performance
The Nexus 5X gave us a beautiful experience most of the time. With this kind of hardware the handset never slows down when delving into the operating system. 2 GB RAM is suitable. We reviewed a device with 32 GB storage, out of which only 24.9 GB is available to the user. This means that users will not want to install heavy apps in the 16 GB model.
The screen was pleasant to use in all circumstances. It brightens and dims depending on the conditions, which we liked. All our sample videos played smoothly on the Nexus 5X. The sound coming from the front speaker of the phone was good.
We also did not face the problem of heating of the phone. After playing the game continuously for 20 minutes, it did get a little warm, but it was nothing to worry about. Connectivity with the LTE network was also good and we have no complaints regarding voice quality.
The phone lasted 9 hours 30 minutes in the video loop battery test. These results are good, certainly not spectacular.

Google’s Nexus phone has been appreciated by most of the people. The new Nexus 5X is especially important for those who were disappointed by the size and price of the Nexus 6. Users looking to upgrade from the Nexus 4 or 5 will be happy with the Nexus 5X.
The pure Android experience remains intact even with Marshmallow. It is more polished than before. This time Google has also tried to address the complaint of poor camera quality. On the other hand, there is no support for microSD card in it.
The Nexus 5X is a great phone, but spending Rs 31,900 for 16GB and Rs 35,900 for 32GB may not be worth it to many users. The reality of the Android market is that today many devices with similar features and specifications are available in the market at a lower price than this. If you have no complaints about the price, then you have the option of great devices like Samsung Galaxy S6.
