Ola Electric Added Soon to Be Launched Electric Motorcycles in its February sales, bajaj auto

Ola Electric, one of the big electric two-wheeler companies, also counted the bookings of its electric motorcycles to be launched soon in its February sales figures. This showed an increase in the company’s market share. For the past few months, the company has faced difficulties due to the increase in scrutiny of the government along with complaints related to service of customers.

In a letter sent to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways last month, Ola Electric has stated that it had added 10,866 bookings for new electric scooters in the February cell figures as well as 1,395 bookings for Roadster X Electric Motorcycles. The company described the sales of February as more than 25,000 units. However, on a government portal associated with vehicle registration, this cell was only about 8,600 units.

The company had said that the registrations may be delayed due to the negotiation with two vendors who handle the process of registration of vehicles. The ministry had sought a response from the company due to a huge difference in sales and registrations of Ola Electric vehicles. However, no disturbances have been decided against the company on this issue. Last week, the Maharashtra government gave notice to Ola Electric for not having a trade certificate for some of its stores in the state. Last month, the company raided several stores in Maharashtra.

The notice states, “It has been found that your company is operating with unauthorized showrooms and stores and illegally selling vehicles. This is a very serious matter. It is a very serious matter. You are requested to provide a clarification about it within three days why action should not be taken against your company for this activity.” According to Rule 33 of the Central Motor Vehicle Act and Central Motor Vehicles, the manufacturers and distributors of the vehicles are mandatory for registration of vehicles. Rules 35 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules states that a separate business certificate has to be taken from the sale of vehicles or the authority of every estabelization, showroom or dealership related to trade.
